702 Discovery Walk the Talk
The Aurum HIV/TB Care and Treatment Team from the Johannesburg branch
turned out for a fantastic, fun filled venture on Sunday July 26th 2009
at the Discovery / Radio 702 Walk the Talk Charity Fun Walk.
The team enrolled for the 8km walk, and together with partners, spouses,
sons, daughters (yes, families) we proudly put the name of the Aurum
Institute among the 22 000 people who had registered for this distance.
22 000 pairs of what was weary, wobbly, legs! (but very proud folks, I
might add).
This was followed by a picnic for some well deserving grumbling tummies.
Boy what camaraderie! What team spirit!
This was the culmination of weeks of dedicated hard work, liaison and
preparation by a dynamic member of the Data Management Department,
Matshidiso Dlodlo. Thank You Tshidi (and all of you who made this
possible).
Some interesting statistics about the 2009 Discovery 702 Walk the Talk:
About 50 000 people in total. There were the 5, 8, 15 and 30km distances
to choose from.
About 1 200 dogs joined the walk
Some 45 000 litres of water were consumed
The Aurum TB/HIV Care and Treatment team challenges other Aurum teams to
register, participate and proudly carry the Aurum Banner at the 2010
"Walk the Talk!"
