Health Economics at Aurum Institute
The Aurum Institute boasts a multi-skilled team of health economists with vast experience in applying quantitative health economics, policy and health systems analysis, and capacity building in developing countries. Our vision is to carry out internationally recognised health economics research and health systems development programmes that aim to improve the health of individuals and communities in developing countries.
The Health Economics and Systems Programme focuses on priority research on high burden diseases such as HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis, and health systems development. Our current programme of work covers economic evaluation of health interventions and new technologies including ART and vaccines, assessing the economic impact of HIV/AIDS on private business, economics of TB, and contribution to the design and review of policy changes in the private health insurance industry.
