Ms Kanya Ndaki

Kanya Ndaki is a Communication Professional with over 17 years of Media and Communication experience; thirteen of which were as an award-winning Journalist and Editor.
More recently, she was Head of Communications at the South African National AIDS Council, where she was responsible for providing strategic communication support to all SANAC units and structures. She has worked as Regional Editor for UN humanitarian news service IRIN News and covered a broad range of humanitarian and development issues. As IRIN’s, specialist HIV/AIDS reporter, she co-founded PlusNews, IRIN’s dedicated HIV/AIDS news service in 2001.
She has also worked for Health-e, providing media with features and analysis on Public Health and HIV/AIDS. Kanya has also been involved in training journalists on health reporting and is contributing author of the book "The Virus Vitamins and Vegetables: the South African HIV/AIDS mystery" a book published by Health-E.
Kanya studied Journalism at Rhodes University and has an Honours degree in Journalism and Media Studies from the University of Witwatersrand.
