From Science to Access

We are committed to ensuring that health innovations are tailored to the needs and, reach the people who need them most.

Our Market Access team bridges the gap between clinical evidence and real-world implementation, helping health products move from research into scale-up and sustainability in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), especially across Africa.

By addressing barriers across product development, policy, pricing, supply chains, and demand creation, Aurum’s Market Access unit ensures that clients receive optimal, quality-assured health products at the right time and for a fair price, enabling equitable access and real-world impact.

Why It Matters

0%

Nearly half (47%) of the world’s population does not have access to diagnostics and treatment.

It takes a median of 13.5 years for health innovations to reach at least 20% uptake in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

0 Billion

Access to medicines and health products shapes health outcomes and progress toward Universal Health Coverage. Many are still inaccessible or unsuitable in African contexts due to limited regional input during development.

Aurum is changing that by embedding access into innovation, research, and development from the outset.

Market Access Highlights

What We Do

We provide a full-service offering that spans the product lifecycle—from early-stage research to national scale-up—focusing on affordability, accessibility, and health system integration.

Our Core Services

Product Optimisation

We focus on ensuring clinical innovations are developed with the end user in mind, translating clinical and implementation research into fit-for-purpose products. By leveraging real-time data, we support efficient clinical trial recruitment and build knowledge systems that advocate for locally relevant health solutions.

Fair Pricing

We are committed to making products affordable and sustainable by shaping markets for treatments and diagnostics, including TB vaccines. We influence upstream costs to keep products affordable and map health financing flows while working with governments to align access priorities. *Aurum offers a unique upstream perspective few others can offer.

Procurement, Supply & Delivery

We are focused on improving how health technologies are delivered by leading demand forecasting and supply chain quantification, strengthening delivery through innovative models and partnerships, facilitating public-private collaborations, and enabling technology transfer for regional manufacture of rifapentine API and the lung flute in Africa.

Promotion, Demand and Adoptions

We drive uptake through policy and regulatory alignment by generating evidence for innovative financing and investment cases, promoting Aurum-led research and aligning products with WHO prequalification requirements, and supporting regulatory alignment to enable faster product registration.
