DriveDx4TB TOO is accelerating the introduction of innovative, decentralised TB diagnostic solutions to support earlier diagnosis and more equitable access to care in high-burden settings.
Led by the Aurum Institute with funding from Unitaid in partnership with The National Institute For Communicable Diseases (NICD), Wellcome Trust Research Programme (KEMRI) and Respiratory Programmatic Implementation and Research Institute (RPRI) for the project implementation.
Closing the TB Diagnostics Gap
Without timely diagnosis, people cannot access treatment, contributing to ongoing transmission, preventable illness and loss of life.
From community screening to primary care clinics, hospitals, and reference laboratories, different use cases require different diagnostic solutions. A one-size-fits-all approach will not close the TB diagnosis gap.
Building a diverse portfolio of accessible, fit-for-purpose diagnostics is critical to finding people earlier, starting treatment sooner, and reducing transmission.
