Dr Juli Switala is an infectious diseases paediatrician, with a special interest in TB. She trained at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital and has worked in various settings including missions with MSF and Brooklyn Chest TB Hospital where she dealt with TB meningitis, complex TB cases, MDR TB, XDR TB, TB prevention and prophylaxis, HIV co-infection, public health aspects, special interest in complex TB and telemedicine shared case management for in- and outpatients.
Dr Switala’s work has a strong emphasis on research based, individualised patient centred practical treatment, prevention rather than cure as well as pragmatic public health and systems approaches focused on equity and efficiency her work at Aurum entails finding cost-effective African solutions for a disease affecting millions of children all over the world.
