Mr Dirk van Schalkwyk
Dirk van Schalkwyk is the Director of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) at Aurum.
He is a results-driven professional with over 20 years of experience in the field of Information Technology (IT), including over 15 years of senior management experience within the public health sector. He worked in a technical lead capacity for the hospitals and health services subsidiary of the AngloGold group until 2005 before moving to Aurum.
Mr van Schalkwyk's role at Aurum is to provide vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives. He directs the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems in support of business operations, in order to improve cost effectiveness, service quality, and business development. He is responsible for all aspects of the organisation's information technology and systems. He holds a BCom degree from the University of South Africa (UNISA) with specialisation in Informatics, and various other industry related certifications including MCP, MCSE and ITIL v3 Foundation.
