This Women’s Month, #SheLeadsHealth shines a light on the women who shape the future of health.
When Nontobeko Ndlovu, Head of Department IRD looks back on the year, she sees challenges turned into opportunities. She reflects on how women across Aurum have built community and driven excellence, showing that bold leadership shapes not only outcomes, but the people around us.
“Our leadership turned challenges into opportunities, showing incredible resilience and authentic courage. Women across the organization have built community and driven excellence, reminding us that teamwork and bold leadership shape our future,” she says. For Nontobeko, leadership is about lifting others while finding solutions together.
For Danai Nyagani, the Acting Managing Director for YHA, the journey has been more inward. Through change and uncertainty, she discovered that her worth is not defined solely by work.
“This year taught me that my worth isn’t defined by work alone. In the midst of change, I found growth, renewed purpose, and the power of perspective,” she shares. Danai’s experience reminds us that leadership also means self-discovery and embracing personal growth as part of the journey.
Obakeng Mokotedi, Research Assistant emphasizes the quiet power of trust and mentorship. Empowerment, for her, comes from being trusted to step into spaces bigger than imagined and learning along the way.
“Empowerment is being trusted to step into spaces bigger than you imagined, just to observe, learn, and grow. That’s how we build future leaders: by pulling others up with us,” she explains. Her words illustrate that leadership multiplies when we make room for others to rise.
Tendai Chikumba, Divisional Financial Manager highlights the value of community when facing uncertainty. Change, she notes, can go in any direction, but having support makes all the difference.
“Change can go in any direction, so prepare for both the best and the worst. Surround yourself with mentors and support, because you don’t have to face it alone,” she says. Tendai’s reflection is a reminder that resilience is nurtured when women face challenges together.
Together, these stories form a tapestry of courage, mentorship, and quiet determination. #SheLeadsHealth celebrates women who rise, who create space for others, and who quietly transform health, leadership, and communities.
