A generous donation of electricity generating equipment from Eaton Africa, will help Aurum continue to provide public health services during power cuts.
The energy management company handed over UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) equipment to The Aurum Institute recently. This, as part of Eaton’s ongoing commitment to improve the quality of life of communities, using power management technologies and services which are safer, more efficient and reliable.
Arlind Mucaku, Director of Operations for Eaton Africa, said it was important for them to support Aurum, particularly as the organisation is involved in the efforts to curb COVID-19.
“In South Africa, we have a long track record of contributions to various public hospitals, schools and communities. I know Aurum has many active programmes which benefit a lot of people, therefore we partnered with the organisation to ensure this equipment goes into areas where it is really needed,” said Mucaku.
The donation was received by Aurum ICT Director Dirk van Schalkwyk. “It’s heartwarming to have this kind of support and it is amazing to see corporate South Africa stepping up in these tough times. This equipment, which is practical and environmentally friendly, will definitely help as we are facing load shedding,” he said.
The equipment will be deployed to various sites where Aurum and its partners operate.
