The International Division and Implementation Research Division at the Aurum Institute, the TB Centre and Johns Hopkins University, CHAI, Zimbabwe and KNCV Ethiopia are offering a PhD bursary to support a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation funded project entitled “Optimising the delivery and cascade for tuberculosis preventive treatment among people living with HIV: a multi-country program evaluation’’. The overall aim of the research is to generate critical knowledge to improve the uptake of TB preventive treatment and health outcomes. To achieve this goal an integrated work-stream will be used to characterise patient-level- factors and clinic-level aspects of TB preventive treatment use and delivery. The proposed research will be leverage the IMPAACT4TB, a project introducing and scaling up a new short TB preventive treatment regimen, 3HP in 12 high TB burden countries. The proposed research will be conducted in three of these 12 countries including, Ethiopia, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

The successful candidate will form part of an interdisciplinary research team from Aurum Institute Johns Hopkins University, CHAI and KNCV.
