Prof Hoosen Jerry Coovadia, a top paediatrician, leading scientist, health policy innovator, and anti-apartheid activist has passed away at the age of 83 at his home in Durban.
Prof. Coovadia became world-renowned for his groundbreaking research on the mother-to-child transmission of HIV. Those who have paid their tributes have described his passing as a great loss to the scientific community and have remarked that his contributions will always be remembered.
