Choosing nursing out of genuine passion and philosophy, Pitse embarked on a transformative journey in 2000 by pursuing a Diploma in Nursing. Despite initial setbacks, her unwavering dedication to helping others fuelled her determination to make a lasting impact. Throughout her nursing career, including roles as a Professional Nurse, Nurse Mentor, Quality Improvement Coach, Nurse Advisor, Area Manager, and now Project Manager, Pitse consistently demonstrates her commitment to delivering excellent healthcare and positively transforming lives.
Pitse's journey, which recently included the achievement of her PhD in Public Health, has not been without challenges. When faced with the discontinuation of her position as an Area Manager and subsequent retrenchment in 2022, she refused to let this setback define her. Embracing the belief that growth occurs outside the comfort zone, Pitse embarked on a journey of self-discovery and professional development. Her resilience and determination led her to seize every opportunity for growth, integrating clinical expertise with quality improvement initiatives and earning recognition for her dedication and accomplishments.
Motivated by her passion for humanity and pursuit of quality, Pitse emphasizes the importance of self-motivation and aligning actions with values. She finds fulfilment in helping others and improving the quality of services provided. As an inspiration to others, particularly women, Pitse encourages individuals to stay true to themselves, prioritize goals, and embrace personal planning and resilience. Looking ahead, she envisions leveraging her experience to contribute to systemic change and make a lasting impact in public health through advocacy and policymaking, driven by her unwavering dedication and commitment to ongoing professional development.
