It is with great pleasure that we announce the leadership transitions of Prof. Violet Chihota and Prof. Salome Charalambous within Aurum, effective 1 August 2024.
Prof. Chihota, now serving as Group Chief Scientific Officer, brings a wealth of expertise from her roles in both basic and implementation research, with academic credentials including an Adjunct Associate Professorship at Vanderbilt University and degrees in Biological Sciences, Medical Microbiology, and Medical Biochemistry. Her vision is to position Aurum at the forefront of global health research by enhancing collaboration within our organisation and with external partners.
Prof. Charalambous, who has assumed the role of Group Chief Health Officer, has made significant contributions to public health, particularly in the fields of TB and HIV. With her background in medicine and epidemiology, she has a proven track record of developing and implementing health programs that have significantly improved patient outcomes and healthcare delivery systems. Her leadership will be key to advancing our mission to create a healthier world for future generations
